History of Road & Race
Road & Race in Manchester is run by John Bradshaw. The company was formed in 1988 to hopefully provide funds to continue John's success in racing. His racing exploits started in modified sports cars culminating in building and racing a single seater car winning a national championship in 1987.
However the business and starting a family curtailed any future plans and all his attentions turned to building the company rebuilding and setting up race cars. This led to a contract for Central T.V to build all the cars for the ITV "Chancer" series.
From there it progressed to restoring international concourse winning classic cars. However with the downturn in classic values they turned their attention to repairing accident damaged modern prestige vehicles attaining Mercedes approval in1997 then VW Audi in 2007 and Porsche Centre approved Body Repairer in early 2008.
It seemed an obvious move to combine the skills developed in its formative years to fill the requirement for excellent service and high quality in the modern body repair market.

1. My insurance company has told me I must use 'their' repairer is this correct?
No.
The OFT (Office of Fair Trading) state that all insurance companies should make it clear on their helplines that the policy holder has the right to choose a repairer of their choice, that the policy holder does NOT have to use the insurance approved body repairer who will have been selected purely at cost.
By choosing a repairer approved by your vehicle's manufacturer you can be assured it will be repaired using the manufacturers genuine parts, approved and tested paint and sealers and by technicians not only trained by the manufacturer using computer equipment supplied and built by the manufacturer.
2. The accident was not my fault and why I should claim on my policy?
You do not have to claim on your policy. We can offer advice on many aspects of an insurance claim and understand that it is not an everyday occurrence. We can supply a like for like replacement vehicle; claim any out of pocket expenses you may incur, claim back cost of repair from the third parties insurance. This will save you claiming on your own insurance and paying your excess.
3. Will I get a replacement car if the accident was my fault?
We will (subject to availability) supply our customers with a courtesy vehicle.
4. Do we guarantee our work?
We will always guarantee our work and will not affect your manufacturers warranty for vehicles we are approved for. For Porsche vehicles we offer a lifetime guarantee of repair.
